Demolition of a highway bridge on the A6 near Rohr

It had to be done quickly. That’s why the two teams from our member company Aktiv Service KG were faced with night shifts near Nuremberg in mid-April. 1,000 m³ of concrete in the form of a highway bridge had to make way. The 80-year-old bridge was demolished from Friday morning to Sunday night. After the pollutants have been removed, the 1.60 m thick walls, the bridge sections and the foundations were chiseled and crushed. Various construction machines were used for this: HIDROMEK MK 490 and 300, CAT 336D, 336 F and 330 F as well as Volvo A30 dumpers and L110G wheel loaders.

70 dumper loads of concrete were driven to a storage site nearby and recycled and reinstalled onsite.

The road under the bridge was closed to through traffic. Aktiv Service KG decided to work night shifts so as not to extend the allotted time.

The way is now clear for the widening of the highway.
