Construction site of the week – Demolition of two silos in Magdeburg
Our demolition site of the week: This time we are in Magdeburg, where our member company KAFRIL Unternehmensgruppe is dismantling two 30-meter-high silos until the end of this week. The two towers are located in an industrial port area and are directly adjacent to railroad tracks. In order not to hinder freight traffic, the employees are taking special care during the dismantling work to ensure that the facilities are not damaged by material falling in an unfavourable manner.
The two reinforced concrete silos are removed using concrete tongs attached to the Hitachi Zaxis 870 XXL excavator with longfront telescopic boom. The deconstruction materials are processed with the help of a crusher. This work is being carried out by the client Roder und Sohn from Schönebeck. The materials are separated and sent separately for recycling. Landfilling is therefore not necessary.
David Karnahl, Head of Marketing at KAFRIL, talks briefly about the demolition site in the reel on our Instagram channel.
