Construction site of the week – Efficient deconstruction project in Bocholt
Until a few weeks ago, there were still several company buildings on the site in Bocholt’s Schlavenhorst industrial park that were used as warehouses. As the buildings no longer met today’s requirements, the owner decided to have the halls deconstructed. He commissioned DA member companies Heermann Abbruch GmbH and Schöttler Abbruch Erdbau Transporte GmbH to do this.
As the construction of a 15-meter-high hall was bolted and not welded, Mathias Heermann, Managing Director of Heermann Abbruch GmbH and member of the DA board, had the construction dismantled by hand.
The disassembled hall is to be rebuilt on the premises of Heermann Abbruch GmbH in Gescher, 40 kilometers away.
The remaining company buildings will be decontaminated, gutted and selectively dismantled in parallel with the dismantling.
The work generated up to 15,000 tons of demolition waste, which is processed on site using a mobile recycling plant. The material is used as a base layer for the new construction.
At the end of the project, new logistics and warehouse buildings are to be built on the site in line with modern logistics requirements.
