Construction site of the week – Partial demolition of a P+R parking garage
In Filderstadt in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, the partial demolition of a P+R parking garage is currently being carried out by DA member company GL-Abbruch GmbH. The lower floors and the ground floor (parking level 0), the access ramps and the upper parking level P1 (1st floor), which serves as a temporary roof, are to remain in place for interim use. Due to static deficiencies, the demolition is carried out floor by floor. In this process, individual concrete parts are successively cut out and lifted off using concrete cutting technology. The lifting is carried out with a high-rise crane. For this purpose, core holes are drilled in some cases as attachment points for the respective concrete part. Another part of the concrete parts is fixed to the high-rise crane using a “special fork” and lifted off. The procedure is identical for each floor and is carried out strictly according to the schedule. A total of approx. 650 ceiling parts are lifted.
The steel girder frame construction is being dismantled step by step as construction progresses. The statically irrelevant longitudinal sections of the individual parking levels are carried out in advance. The current work areas are supported by means of PERI PEP 20-350 frame construction until the lift. The support is carried out piece by piece according to the schedule and construction progress. The separation of the wall slab from the existing building is also carried out floor by floor using concrete cutting technology and core drilling for fixing the concrete parts to the high-rise crane.
The removed concrete parts were partly used by a third-party contractor for the further development of his storage area and partly used for the production of RC concrete products.
